approach
for the creation of sounds, rickmer takes the approach
of the unusual. different is good.
contextual sound design
today's world is full of sound. this has always
been the case, but the nature of sounds that beat the human's ear
drums has changed. what has remained constant for all times though
is the human's capability to filter sounds by levels of priority.
the interpretation of sounds is context dependent and thus the creation
of new sounds needs to be made in view of the context in which the
sound is going to be deployed.
at the same time, the recipient of the sound has
to be amenable to the sound and intuitively understand it's meaning.
sounds can play with cultural or contextual associations, and that
is what rickmer's sounds intend to do.
