mindgear makes productivity software for

corporate presence
founded in 1997, mindgear was at the forefront
of developers for the PalmOS platform and needed a presence
that would reflect their protagonist nature. yet, it was necessary
to convey an image of reliability and productivity - there
was a strong desire to avoid giving the impression of a garage-style
outfit. this was about serious corporate presence.
design process
the task at hand was not limited to the design
of a logo only, but encompassed the design of an entire corporate
presence, including the name for the business. read

approach
a key element of the approach was to identify
the essential characteristics of the business and how it was
desired to be perceived by their clientele. a list of keywords
aided to set the frameworks that would guide the design process.
mindgear was associated with adjectives such as:
- cutting edge
- reliable
- innovative
- serious, not stale
- dynamic
solution
the resulting design is based on the font
that was chosen for the representation
of the full business name. the animated logo further underlines
the aspect of mindgear's dynamic and innovative approach to
software solution design.
